- Slice peaches into halves and remove pits. Toss with 1/2 cup sugar and 1/4 cup flour.
- Combine evaporated milk, 1 tbsp butter, and 1 tsp flour in a bowl. Brush into a 9-inch pie dish.
- Arrange peach halves in the dish with cut sides up. Drape with a kitchen towel.
- Cream 1/2 cup cold butter and remaining sugar. Blend with 1 cup flour, baking powder, and evaporated milk.
- Spread topping over peaches. Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 50 minutes until deep golden.
